Like that for Archbp. Gabriel M. Reyes on October 10, 2014, the Memorial Mass for Archbp. Michael O’Doherty was joined with the 7:30 A.M. Mass and the 12:10 N.N. Mass on October 13, 2014.

This arrangement enabled the Manila Cathedral-Basilica (MCB) Mass goers to join in offering Mass and prayers for the deceased Archbishop.

The Prayer Warriors of the Holy Souls (PWHS), assigned to take care of the Death Anniversaries of the Archbishops of Manila buried in the MCB Crypt, joined the 12:10 N.N. Memorial Mass for Archbishop O’Doherty. The PWHS is headed by Ms. Chita Monfort.

Basing himself on the Gospel of the day in which Jesus was counteracting the evil of his generation, Msgr. Nestor Cerbo, the MCB Rector, showed that Archbishop O’Doherty did the same by strengthening Catholic education through founding the Catholic Education Association of the Philippines (CEAP) and by introducing the Legion of Mary in the Philippines.

After the mass, mass goers who had time to spare joined in praying for Archbp. O’Doherty before his tomb at the MCB Crypt. After the prayers at the tomb, the choir members of the PWHS joined in the fellowship lunch prepared by the MCB. MNCC
