His Eminence Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle, the Archbishop of Manila, presided at 6:00 P.M. Mass on December 8, 2014 in celebration of the Feast Day of the Patroness of his Cathedral-Basilica, Mary, the Immaculate Conception.
This year 2014 Feast Day Celebration was marked with the Blessing and Inauguration of the Manila Cathedral-Basilica’s: 1. Baptistry’s Reliquary and Ambry, Mary’s Woods Prayer Garden with Our Lady of Fatima (at Mary, the Immaculate Conception Gardens); New Evangelization Tools: Evangelizing Interactive TVs at the Side Chapels of St. Joseph the Worker, St. Pius X, Sta. Potenciana, St. Jude Thaddeus, Holy Souls, Our Lady of the Pillar, Vestibule and Baptistry; 2. Mary’s Woods with Our Lady of Fatima (at Mary, the Immaculate Conception Gardens); 3. New Evangelization Tools: Evangelizing Interactive TVs and the New Official Manila Cathedral-Basilica Website, www.manilacathedral.ph.
In introducing the above projects, Msgr. Nestor C. Cerbo saw in them the reminders on the directions of the ministry at the Manila Cathedral-Basilica. It is a ministry that should contribute to the increase of God’s children who should become saints and to the increase of the leaders of the Church (Baptistry’s Reliquary and Ambry); that is deeply rooted in prayer and in Mary and that is open to new Evangelization Tools.
Gratitude was expressed to the donors of the projects: Mr. Clifford Chua for the Reliquary; Catholic Women’s League of the Archdiocese of Manila for Mary’s Woods Prayer Garden with Our Lady of Fatima; Mr. Jose and Mrs. Esperanza Ching; Mrs. Chita Monfort; Mr. & Mrs. Salvador Castro, Jr.; Confraternity of Mary, Mediatrix of All Grace; Catholic Women’s League of the Archdiocese of Manila, for the Evangelizing Interactive TVs; and Mrs. Chita Monfort for the design of the New Official Manila Cathedral-Basilica Website.
Aside from the donors, contractors and mass goers, the MCB volunteers, Residencia del Arzobispo, Catholic Women’s League National Board also joined the celebration. The Catholic Women’s League of the Archdiocese of Manila was the sponsor of the Mass.
