After its re-opening on April 9, 2014 marking the completion of its interior restoration, the Manila Cathedral-Basilica is presently undergoing restoration of its exterior.

The exterior restoration consists of Dome Repair with contracted price of P2,100,000.00; Copper Roof Repair, P2,300,000.00; Stained Glass Windows Restoration, P5,900,000.00; and Centralized Aircon System Upgrade, P33,273,083.69.  The total price of the Projects which are already contracted is P43,573,083.69.

There are still other major works needed to complete the exterior restoration but it was decided to limit to the said ongoing major works until more funds could be generated.
